General terms of use
App “DiagAuto AI: OBD2 Scanner” (Android) and the diagautoai.eu site. Last updated: October 2, 2026.
1. Purpose
These terms govern the use of the DiagAuto AI app and the diagautoai.eu site. By installing or using the app, you accept them. The publisher is presented in the legal notice.
2. What the app does
DiagAuto AI connects to an OBD2 adapter plugged into your vehicle to read its fault codes, measurements and information, and can have them explained by an artificial intelligence. The available functions are described on the Features page and the What the AI does page.
The accessible data depends on your vehicle, its year and your adapter: not all vehicles provide all the information, and operation with a given vehicle or adapter is not guaranteed.
3. No reprogramming
The app never reprograms the control units and changes no vehicle setting. The only action possible is clearing the engine fault codes (a standard OBD2 function), only when you ask for it and confirm it.
Clearing codes does not repair a fault: the problem may come back, and the emissions checks go back to “not ready” until the vehicle runs them again, which may interfere with a vehicle inspection. You alone decide on clearing and its consequences.
4. Safety: keep your eyes on the road
⚠️ The driver must never handle the phone while driving. Some functions, such as monitoring the measurements, are designed to work during a trip: start them while stopped, place the phone on a fixed mount, then let the app record the data by itself. Look at the results once stopped, or hand the phone to a passenger.
Place the adapter and any cable so that they do not get in the way of the pedals or of driving. Obey the rules of the road in all circumstances.
5. The AI's answers
The explanations and diagnoses offered by the AI are generated automatically from your vehicle's data. They are aids to understanding: they may be incomplete or wrong, and do not replace the opinion of a professional mechanic. Have a professional check before any repair or purchase of a part. If the problem affects safety (brakes, steering, overheating, oil pressure, red warning light), stop safely and consult a professional.
Do not write personal information in the chat or in the description of a symptom. For the data sent to the AI, see the privacy policy.
6. Your equipment
You are responsible for the choice, the condition and the connection of your OBD2 adapter, and for the use of your phone. Poor-quality adapters can cause disconnections or erroneous readings. Unplug the adapter if the vehicle stays parked for a long time, as some models draw a little battery power.
7. Liability
The app is provided as is. The publisher endeavors to ensure that it works properly, but does not guarantee that it will be without errors or compatible with all vehicles and adapters. Within the limits provided by law, the publisher is not responsible for decisions made on the basis of the information displayed, for repairs carried out, or for the consequences of clearing fault codes. These limits do not apply in the case of gross or intentional misconduct, nor to the rights that the law grants you as a consumer.
8. Purchases
Some functions may become paid. Purchases will be made only through Google Play and will be governed by general terms of sale published before purchases open.
9. Intellectual property
The app, its name, its logo, its texts and the site are protected. It is forbidden to copy or modify them, to decompile the app or to circumvent its protections, except in the cases authorized by law.
10. Changes to the service
The app and these terms may change. The date of the last update appears at the top of this page. By continuing to use the app after a change, you accept the new terms.
11. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by French law. In case of difficulty, please write to us first at contact@diagautoai.eu: we will look for an amicable solution. If you are a consumer, you may also apply to the courts of your place of residence.
