How to read a fault code
The letter indicates the system: P engine and transmission, C chassis (brakes, steering, suspension), B body (airbags, comfort), U communication network between control units. The first digit indicates whether the code is common to all makes (0, and often 2) or specific to a manufacturer (1, often 3). The following digits specify the subsystem and the fault.
