Connect an OBD2 adapter
A few minutes are enough, and the Bluetooth pairing only needs to be done once.
What you need
- A Bluetooth OBD2 adapter of the ELM327 type.
- An Android phone with the DiagAuto AI app.
- A vehicle with an OBD2 port: almost all cars have an OBD2 port from the late 1990s and early 2000s onward, depending on the regulations of each country.
Step by step
- 1
Locate the vehicle's diagnostic port (often under the steering wheel, sometimes near the center console).
- 2
Push your OBD2 adapter (ELM327 type) in all the way.
- 3
Turn the ignition on.
- 4
Pair your adapter in the phone's Bluetooth settings (the code is often 0000 or 1234).
- 5
Open the DiagAuto AI app and tap “Connect an OBD adapter”.
- 6
Choose the adapter you paired in step 4.
- 7
Read your fault codes and let the AI explain the problem.
Won't connect?
- Follow the instructions supplied with your adapter: some models have a power button or a specific pairing procedure.
- Check that the ignition is on: without it, the adapter gets no response from the vehicle.
- Check that the adapter is pushed in all the way; a light usually comes on on it.
- If the adapter does not appear in the app's list, redo step 4: it must first be paired in the phone's Bluetooth settings.
- Still stuck? Write to us at contact@diagautoai.eu, stating the vehicle and the adapter model.
